Lovran [E-session]

For me engagement sessions are a real good way to get to know the couple and of course for the couple it is a good way to get used to the camera.

Yesterday I had a lovely engagement session in Lovran. The weather was nice, the surroundings were beautiful and happily it was not too busy yet so we were not too much bothered by the tourists.

Ariana and Damir are such a happy couple! They fit together and they're so in love. We did not had any problem yesterday to shoot more then three hours, time really flies when you're having fun.

After this experience I can't wait to shoot their wedding!!!

Another wedding site ...

Obviously weddings are big business!

Every town has now its own sajam vjenčanja (wedding fair), on almost weekly base I receive offers to spend some money for advertising in a wedding-related article and even our own Mayor is going to make money! Grad Zagreb offers now open-air weddings for the little amount of 20.000kn and for an extra 50.000kn you'll receive a tent as well…

Furthermore there are many (Croatian) wedding sites on the internet. Every year we get some new ones... Some are good, some are fancy, some are useful and some are ‘onak’…

Recently I spotted a new site, although still with little information I expect this one to grow quite a lot. Why don’t you take a look?

I.D.E.A.

I like it…

What to ask your photographer?

Although I discussed how to find and what to ask your wedding photographer here and here before, I thought following could be useful as well.

Via the Internet I am in daily contact with many, many cool and great wedding photographers all over the world. This ensures me that I learn every day, since I sincerely believe that everyone can always improve himself!

Anyway, those photographers founded The Professional Wedding Photographers' Collective and made an interesting website for those couples who still have to select their photographer.

They say: “Wedding photography can be confusing! There's so much to learn, and it seems that every wedding photography studio has a different policy. Our members are committed to honest and open business principles, continuing their photography educations, and expanding the boundaries of their art. We hope you'll learn all about wedding photography and read the honest answers about our craft provided by some of the most dedicated wedding photographers in the world.”

In other words, please do visit this site and get answers to all your questions you have in finding your wedding photographer. Goodluck!

Being nervous ...

Although photography is the main part, I also offer video. Of course this is outsourced since I am not good with a video. I tried it once, but noticed that turning the video camera is not as handy since you have to turn the TV as well…

Anyway, to cover the weddings I work with three video guys assuring me that I always can deliver video if needed. Last week I had a coffee with one of them and he told me that, although he is filming more then 13 years at weddings, he is still nervous before the wedding.

To me this is a good sign. Not because I am nervous as well, but because it makes me realize that he is caring about the wedding he is going to film. Being nervous makes him sharp and alert. Being nervous tells one that this wedding is really important and that we have to make the best reportage ever!

Now, if he would not be nervous, he probably would not care as much… it would be just another job…

Well, for me wedding photography is not just another job… It is the ultimate job but every wedding must be better then the previous one and I am aware that for you, your wedding is the most important one and it is my task to make the best reportage ever!
