The Muse

It is generally known that poets and musicians are often inspired by a muse.

Long time ago my site was hosted at MuseCube, a community of artists and models in the fashion world. Next to site hosting there was a private forum where we could discuss our work and there were many artists there who said that the models where their muses, their inspiration and this was often a topic which was discussed at the forums…

When I decided to photograph weddings only I switched provider and hosted my site at BigFolio who is more aiming at wedding photography instead of fashion. I also switched to more specialized wedding forums and although art is shown there as well the discussions about art are different and muses are not mentioned there, it’s more the technical part we talk about instead of the spiritual part of art.

But recently I questioned myself; do wedding photographers have their muses? Can they adore a bride so much for one day that she becomes his muse? Like the fashion photographer adores his model? In the wedding business it is often said that a bride is the princess of the day and we should treat her like a princess, like royalty. But a princess is not a goddess and therefore a bride can not be the muse…

Do wedding photographers have muses? Are they artists or are they just photographing wedding for the business? In case of the latter, they probably don’t know about muses… may be money is their god…

But imagine if the wedding photographer is an artist? Will he have a muse? I believe he has… if poets and musicians have a muse, a visual artist might need them too...

Klet Bunčić [Dugo Selo]

Last Saturday Aleksandra and Boris exchanged their vows and promised to love each other forever in the church of Siget. Aleksandra looked gorgeous and she had a marvellous dress and I guess that Boris heart skipped of joy when he saw her Saturday…

After the ceremony we went for some pictures to Bundek and for everybody who would like to have their wedding pictures taken there, please note that you should have a license for that…

The evening we spend in Klet Bunčić a huge complex where many couples can enjoy their wedding day with enough choice of styles for everybody. It was nice to see that everybody, young and old, enjoyed the music and partied till late into the night…

It's official ...

It's official! I am the first authorized photographer in Croatia for selling the ProAlbum products. Yesterday I finally got the license for the software needed so now I can start designing real wedding books.

The cool thing is, that next to the books I will also be able to deliver wonderful so-called wedding magazines.

As soon as my show book is finished, I'll make you a great offer, so keep on checking out my blog...

Cavallino

Last Saturday I had a real nice wedding. We did the portrait session in the late afternoon so we used the wonderful lightning to create some stunning photos. Katarina had a very nice dress and she looked amazing in it!

The party was held in Cavallino which was wonderful decorated and served great food. Since the restaurant is not that big, the atmosphere is quite intimate and thanks to the terrace guests were able to enjoy the lovely spring evening as well.

After midnight kuma surprised the couple with tamburaši who kept the spirit alive.

I must admit, this wedding, was a very nice opening of the season. Hopefully I can show you some pictures next week already…

The season starts ...

The new wedding season starts saturday and I am so excited about it!

For almost two years I am now active on the Croatian market and during this period I spend lots of time finding my way in Croatian Wedding Land … I had to find a good light supplier, a photo lab, wedding albums, wedding books and so on. I had to market myself so you would find me…

At this very moment, just before the new season I found the things I need and since I get daily several requests for weddings or my planer I also know that you find me.

This means that from now on I can again concentrate on that what I like most: the art of wedding photography. Since I have to spend less time on 'business' I can spend more time on developing my skills. Wedding photography is a life long learning process!

In London I bought some great books, both related to Photoshop as well as to the artistic side. I found a great book from Julia Camaron which certainly will change my photography and honestly I can’t wait to start shooting weddings and to edit them…

I am so looking forward for the new season and I wish all the couples who get married this season a wonderful wedding!!!
